NORTH AMERICA'S LEADER IN INFRARED HEATING

Cogges Farm Cafe

Effective heating for large spaces with high ceilings

"We needed discreet but effective heating in the Cogges Kitchen cafe"

Background

Cogges is a historic farm spread over 17 acres and features a beautiful 13th century manor house and Grade II listed 18th century farm buildings. The site is open to the public and also acts as a popular wedding venue due to its stunning setting in the Cotswolds with animals, gardens and grounds.  Cogges Kitchen hosts the cafe area, located in the old milking parlour of the site and the management were seeking effective heating for the cafe space.

Solution

Herschel Summit White heaters were specified for the unique interior of the cafe.  Janette from Cogges describes the challenges they were facing. “With a combination of high ceilings and low beams, we worried about how they might look, where to safely position the heaters and that any heat might disappear into the roof space”.

Infrared provides the best heating for high ceilings and large spaces as, unlike convection heaters, radiant heaters do not heat the air which then rises and would dissipate to the top of the cafe’s roof space. Instead infrared heaters transfer heat directly to the fabric of the building warming the objects and surfaces effectively and efficiently. The Summit White heater is a 2.6kW zero light solution that can be both wall and ceiling-mounted and is available with or without a remote control. The Summit heaters have been mounted throughout the area to deliver comfortable, non-intrusive warmth that is easy for management to control for customers and staff within the building.

Testimonial

“We needed discreet but effective heating in the Cogges Kitchen cafe, located in a converted milking parlour at our heritage visitor centre.  With a combination of high ceilings and low beams, we worried about how they might look, where to safely position the heaters and that any heat might disappear into the roof space.

Alan at Herschel was so helpful, understanding our particular requirements and the quirks of the building.  He calculated what was needed for the space, recommending the IR heaters with remote option, so we can control each heater individually. Our electrician found the technical specifications very helpful.  Being able to angle the heaters at an optimum height brings the warmth down to the right level, without being visually intrusive.

I have no hesitation recommending Herschel”. Janette Reed, Cogges Farm
