How Herschel Halo Heaters Are Transforming Church Heating in the UK
750+ Halo enquiries in the UK
Since launching the Halo heater in the UK in 2022, we have seen the Halo grow from a unique concept to a leading church heating solution with over 750 enquiries and over 70 installations across UK churches.

Helping churches save on energy bills
Many of our Halo installations have resulted in huge savings in energy costs and also much faster warm-up times to heat the building, especially when compared with gas systems. Many churches have found it takes them only 20-30 minutes to heat the church to a comfortable temperature in comparison to gas systems which can take days.
“Turning on the heating typically twenty minutes or so before the start of the service… is adequate. By the time the service starts, the place is comfortably warm“ – Chris Greef, St Michael’s Church
“As a church, we’re realizing the best way to go instead of heating a whole church as big as this one – zonal heating is really a sensible way to go, both for energy efficiency and cost, and environmental impact as well“ – Reverend Paul Fillery, All Saints’ Church
“The old system used to take us four or five days to heat the church to 16 or 17 degrees, which was the absolute maximum we could ever get to. And the boiler worked for 24 hours a day for those four or five days until we reached this temperature. It was a real trial for the church warden, for the vergers coming in here to turn the heating on, to monitor it, to check that it was still working. And all those issues to do with managing the heating system have now gone. We literally walk into the church as we’re setting it up for the congregation to arrive and half an hour before we flick the switch and on come the heaters and within half an hour every part of the church is registering 17 or 18 degrees of temperature, which is excellent” – Andrew Bellamy, St Michael’s Church

Designed for your church
Herschel Halo is custom-built for every order, allowing you to customize your Halo to fit your church’s unique aesthetic. Popular feedback about the appearance of the Halo heaters has been that they fit into the church aesthetic seamlessly and impress people visiting the church.
“We are simply delighted with them. If you look at the Halo heaters themselves, they seem to look as if they’ve been here forever. They are a much more fitting chandelier system than we had in here before, which we’d had for nearly 150 years. And people come into the church and they literally go, wow, they look fantastic.” – Andrew Bellamy, St Michael’s Church
“When people come in… the general reaction is, ‘Wow, they look really great.’ They look as if they were designed for the building. They’re absolutely perfect in situation” – Chris Greef, St Michael’s Church
“The Halos look pretty spectacular. The congregation loved them.” – Peter Black, St Peter’s Scottish Episcopal Church

“… the whole process went really nicely from the design and planning side, and we still are having ongoing conversations about the future and how we do that together.” – Reverend Paul Fillery, All Saints’ Church
“Dealing with Herschel as a company was excellent….. a project team came to the church and assessed the number of heaters and the size of the heaters that we would want. It was a very straightforward process” – Andrew Bellamy, St Michael’s Church
